"Labour Market Information and Analysis: Their Contribution to Economic Prosperity - Recent Examples and Future Paths for Quebec"

Demographic estimates suggest that the labour force will diminish in size around 2012, which could cause severe problems in recruiting workers and lower the standard of living in Quebec.

Quebec’s Government Employment Plan addresses this issue. This government strategy is based on a rigorous analysis of the four factors which contribute to the standard of living. We will examine how the judicious use of Labour Market Information (LMI) can contribute to increased living standards. Three concrete examples of how LMI has been used will be provided: matching training and jobs, the Government Action Plan on Immigration and the intervention strategy concerning older workers.
