Susan Wiliams


Susan Williams

Province of Alberta

Ms. Williams has over 20 years experience in the Alberta government including the Acting ADM of International Trade and Regional Development with Economic Development as well as strategic policy positions within Alberta Treasury. In her current role as Assistant Deputy Minister of People and Skills Investments with Alberta Human Resources and Employment, Ms. Williams is responsible for the Alberta Works program which provides Albertans with the skills, supports and information they need to succeed in the labour market. Through her leadership and direction, Ms. William's team assists industry in the research and development of a productive workforce while ensuring innovative and effective polices and programs are available for low income Albertans.

Activity undertaken in meeting these objectives include labour market analysis, policy development, as well as program design and support of the province's training and employment programs. Ms. Williams also assumes responsibility for low income planning and support, child supports services and health benefits planning.

Ms. Williams has a Master of Business Administration from the University of Alberta and a Master of Arts from McGill University.
