James F. Follwell

Jim Follwell is Economist, Labour Market Development, with the Prince Edward Island Department of Development & Technology. He is a graduate of the University of Guelph, B.Sc. in Agriculture (1976) and M.Sc (1980) specialized in Agricultural Economics, Rural Development, and Production Economics. Jim was a research officer with the Canadian Parliamentary Library research services during the early 1980's, and worked with Parliament as policy analyst during the 1990's with assignments in Agriculture, resource, and rural development issues.
He has also consulted on a variety of projects including alternative energy system planning. Jim's first appointment with the PEI Government was as Energy Planning Coordinator from 1983 to 1987. He rejoined the PEI Government service in 2003, working on productivity issues, program evaluation, and labour market development. Jim, his wife and two children (and Marshall the dog) live on rural acreage which was part of the historic Premier Jones farm at Fullerton's Marsh, east of Charlottetown.
