Dr. Laurence Shatkin

Laurence Shatkin, Ph.D., is a researcher-writer in the field of career information and career decision making. He was a principal developer of the computer-based SIGI PLUS and Career Oasis systems, which combine assessment and career information in easy-to-use interactive formats. He has researched the career information resources used by American high school students, the work-related values of Saudi college students, and the distinguishing characteristics of college majors. He is a Senior Product Developer at JIST Publishing, for which he has authored or co-authored several books, including 90-Minute College Major Matcher, 150 Best Jobs for Your Personality, and 250 Best Jobs Through Apprenticeships. He is the current president of the Association of Computer-Based Systems for Career Information.
